Greece authorities have confirmed that a second person has died following a serious crash on West Ridge Road over the weekend. Tyler Underwood, 28, of Hamlin, succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision on Saturday, according to a statement from Greece police on Thursday.
The crash occurred around 1 p.m. when Craig Cavallaro, 42, of Parma, was traveling westbound on West Ridge Road. Cavallaro’s vehicle struck another car that had stopped at a red light at Elmgrove Road. Cavallaro was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other vehicle’s occupants were rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital with severe injuries.
Underwood was a passenger in the second vehicle, which was being driven by 25-year-old Riesen Kimmerly, also of Hamlin. Both were initially reported in serious condition and were immediately treated at the hospital. Authorities had previously reported on Monday that Kimmerly remained in serious condition, though no updates on her status have been released since.
The tragic incident has left the community in shock, with friends and family mourning the untimely loss of both Cavallaro and Underwood. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, reviewing evidence and gathering witness statements to determine contributing factors.
Officials have emphasized the importance of road safety and caution in the area, noting that this accident underscores how quickly lives can be changed by moments behind the wheel. Community members are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any information that may assist in the ongoing investigation.
As the families of Cavallaro and Underwood grieve their loss, the incident serves as a somber reminder of the fragility of life and the devastating impact of traffic accidents. Thoughts and condolences go out to all those affected by this tragedy, as Greece and surrounding communities come together to support the families and honor the memories of the two lives lost.
