Seth Darius Currie of Charlottetown Dies at 35, Beloved Teacher, Husband, and Father Remembered

The community is mourning the loss of Seth Darius Currie of Charlottetown, who passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, at the age of 35. Seth’s death has left a profound void among those who knew him, as he was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.

Seth is survived by his wife, Jalisa (Jones), and their two children, Piper and Pete, who were the greatest pride of his life. His parents, Randy and Esther Currie, and his in-laws, Lance Jones (Michelle), Kim Blue (Vince Keenan), and Chris Blue (Heather), also mourn his loss. Seth was the grandson of David and Myrna Currie and Roeloffiena Dejong, and he is remembered fondly by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Gjildert Dejong.

A man of many passions, Seth loved good music, football—particularly cheering for the Minnesota Vikings with his “Skol Vikings” spirit—and placing a good bet. An accomplished cook, he enjoyed spending time in the kitchen with his children, Piper and Pete, often baking and preparing meals together. He also had a passion for golf, especially enjoying Wednesday night rounds with his golfing group, and he loved playing senior league hockey, demonstrating his love for sports and camaraderie.

Beyond his hobbies, Seth dedicated himself to his career as a teacher at East Wiltshire School. He took great pride in shaping young minds and making a positive impact on his students. His commitment to education and his students was one of his proudest accomplishments. Family time was especially meaningful to Seth; Sundays spent in Suffolk with his family, enjoying his mother’s cooking, were moments he cherished deeply.

Seth was a devoted father and husband, always striving to be the best in his roles. His love for his children, Piper and Pete, was evident in everything he did. His legacy is one of kindness, dedication, and love.

Visitation will be held at Hillsboro Funeral Home, with the funeral service taking place on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at 2:30 pm in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, a Celebration of Life will be held at Fox Meadows Golf Course for family and friends. Interment will occur later at St. Columba Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
